A monotype from my “Glitch” series will be included in the 30th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition. Gia Hamilton, director of the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans, was this year’s juror for the exhibition. Opening reception is on Thursday, April 6th from 6-8pm. The exhibition is on view from October 26th – May 12th in the Grand Gallery of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex at McNeese State University, 4205 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA.

Thrilled that my digital animation and fused glass piece, “Alpha Release,” will be included in the Digitalia exhibition, a showcase of art that explores the intersections of technology and contemporary art. Bruce Wands, author of Art of the Digital Age, served as curator for the exhibit, selecting 57 digital artworks from 900 entries. Opening reception is on Saturday, March 18th from 3-6pm. The exhibition is on view from March 18th – April 15th at Barrett Art Center, 55 Noxon Street, Poughkeepsie, NY.

“Jill Burks‘s handwrought glass screen covering an iPad running a digital animation contrasts the materiality of our electronic devices with the abstraction of the virtual world to which they grant access,” says juror Bernard Yenelouis, Assistant Director at L. Parker Stephenson Photographs, NYC.

I am excited to have a piece included in the 80th anniversary of the Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region exhibition. Founded in 1936, MHR is the oldest running regional juried show in the country. The exhibition was juried by Michael Oatman, artist and associate professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The exhibition will take place from October 30th – December 31st at the Hyde Collection, 161 Warren Street in Glens Falls, N.Y.
